Condolences

Condolence From: Wendy Clift
Condolence: I was so sorry to hear of your loss. When Iris and I first met I was six months old, so my memories of Deer Lake will always include Iris, especially her boundless energy and contagious laugh. Edith's children and grandchildren still enjoy that idyllic place, which will be part of their nature as it is mine. Edith often reminisced about her visits to your farm, taking the train (!) from Toronto to Highland Grove, and the enduring values she learned from your remarkable family.

Condolence: I've known Iris since I was a kid. Iris and Harold were always volunteering for events in the community and she was always the lady in charge. If you needed anything during an event, the answer was "speak to Iris." Once I joined Rotary, I was fortunate enough to work with Iris on various Rotary projects. Uxbridge was incredibly lucky to have this wonderful lady within our community. Many people will remember her presence at the annual Seniors Turkey Dinner as well as the Million Dollar Hole in One. Attending meetings online once she couldn't attend in person, Iris was a very dedicated Rotarian and she inspired many people including myself. Thank you Iris for everything you've done! We will miss you greatly.

Condolence: As one of the newer members of the Rotary Club of Uxbridge I only knew Iris for a few years but what an inspiration her energy and commitment was. Her life long commitment to and with Harold was also a lovely example for us all. Thank you Iris for your years of leadership to Rotary and to the community. Deirdre

Condolence From: Carol & Glenn Gelette
Condolence: Such a special lady with a most unexpected and eclectic sense of humour and laugh to match. I will so miss her and the force of her personality. Our private joke was that because of her, my husband "learned his colours". Rest in Peace old friend. I will always remember you.
