Heather and Christopher Page, Victoria , BC

We remember Dean with great fondness from our student days in Toronto. He was one of the most generous, kind-hearted people we had ever met when we first encountered him at Little Trinity in our mid twenties. As he had with so many others, Dean quickly adopted us struggling students. We were wined and dined in a lavish fashion we had seldom experienced. We laughed together entertained by his outrageous sense of humour. We were new to Toronto and Dean introduced us to many extraordinary aspects of the city he loved so much. And who could forget the weekends at Turriff, memories still etched in our hearts nearly 40 years later; country auctions and fairs, barbecued lamb chops, cigars, more good food and wine, and always rich conversation late into the night with the interesting and varied people Dean gathered around him and nurtured with the same generosity of spirit we knew so well. Dean had strong opinions and was a man of deep integrity and loyalty. Now so many years later, his presence continues to be embedded in our hearts. Our love and blessings are with Dean’s family, especially for the service on Saturday and also with the many who held him dear. We were privileged to know such a gentle-man and trust that all that was good and noble in Dean continues on. "Love never ends" 1 Cors.13:8
